thebroodyelf said: So glad you’re onboard the Sherlock fandom! So darn glad
Oh yes, I’ve been on that bandwagon a while now, LOL. I thought you knew!? I own the series on bluray and must haven seen it .. oohhh… at least 5 times now. I absolutely adore Sherlock, and Moriarty. Heh, we would have that in common, wouldn’t we? You don’t know how hard it is to kind of limit myself to not reblogging all the things I’m interested in/ watching right now. I try to keep myself limited to at least 2-3 fandoms at a time on my blog at least. Though I am always willing to discuss and fangirl out about these things, muahaha. We need to catch up soon, my friend! I miss you!

So here is my question: does this come before DA2’s actions or after? Because… in DA2 she has short hair and is very…
This is before DA2 after Meredith takes over as Knight-Commander. At least that is the setting that was intended.
Gollum - givethemhorns
((I first want to say that you got waaay more than you bargained for when you asked for a Lord of the Rings character. I am not really sorry for that, but I am sorry it is so long. I just can’t control myself when it comes to LOTR, it’s my soul, my passion, my first love my whole life.))
why I like them:
Gollum is an example of what the One Ring is really capable of doing to someone. Smeagol murdered Deagol because he *had* to possess the ring. The power and draw of it is just indescribable. The way it has a will of its own and destroys everyone who ever came to possess it. That is what Gollum represents.
He was a normal Stoor once (well as far as we can tell he was an ancestor of the Hobbit which were the Stoors), and he was cast out. Cast out by his people, by his family, by everyone who loved and knew him because he murdered someone in cold blood for a thing. A thing that someone found and suddenly he had to possess. Gollum is exactly what Gandalf and Frodo say he is. Someone who is so far gone that all you can do is feel pity for them.

I could say the same for you! Although, I also stay for your art as well, muahaha. Thank you so much. It means a lot to me, truly.

And the Fenris too I’m sure ;). Along with other things. I’m proud to call you my friend :D.

Honestly, none of these things matter. I think what really matters is being allowed to say this and not being labeled a “non fan” or “not as big a fan” because of it. There is no measure of fan. We all love the material. Diff ways, but all fans.I’d say it does matter. It’s not about someone singling you out or questioning your dedication. It’s about you having nothing to add to a discussion, having nothing to comment on and coming to a point when it’s not necessary to even state your opinion cos it’s so radically different that nobody will be interested to discuss it with you. Like I said, nothing to contribute. Which is the whole point of being in a community, I suppose?
I think that with any community, there become things much like “social norms.” The more vocal and popular opinions become the norm while the individual nuances and appreciations are lost. I liked the endings of mass effect 3. I dislike Fenders. I appreciate canon ships because they are canon, and value them more. These are called the “unpopular opinions” for a reason. They often are met with vitriol and non-tolerance.
As you said it isn’t about singling out, but whether you care to contribute. I say it doesn’t matter, but that is a rather wishful personal belief I suppose. These things don’t matter to me. What one fan likes over another fan, and what one fan dislikes over another fan makes no difference to me. I am often content to listen (or read) and not contribute, or simply reverse-analyze my own thinking.
Being part of a community isn’t just about sharing, but finding people who like the same things you do and feeling comfortable enough to the point where you can share with them. A fandom as a whole is not going to provide that. We all believe different things, we like different things, but in the end it all comes down to whether or not you like the material. If you are a “fan” of that material, then you will always have at least that in common.

ALL of the sad feels.
we shall see… we shall see. I’m fully expecting a tormenting good emotional ride of sad feels. Bwahaha. It’s why I love these types of things. The intellectual part is just icing on the cake. The characters, tragedy and plot is the real meat. It’s why these shows attracted me in the first place I think.

Oh no!!! You’ll become one of THEM! I have too much Sherlock on my dash already! (Though Once Upon a Time is awesome.)
HAHA. I think I do enough of “dash bombing” you with my Mass Effect and Dragon Age Obsession. I shall not add too much Sherlock spam. I shall spare you that ;). My “likes” section though — well that is just free for all right there, LOL. And YES I have been watching OUaT, and I am loving it so very much. It’s awfully tempting to just spam ALL THE THINGS, but I really try to stick to only a few obsessions at a time ;).
| Umm, umm, umm. I see your stuff when I cruise through the Fenris tag and I just wanted you to know that you're the only person whose written stuff I actually read and I enjoy it a lot. <3 I think you portray your Fenris very accurately, though I think maybe your Hawke could do with a little work, but I just wanted to say that I love your stuff. :3 :3 :3 | ||

WOW, that is a compliment indeed! I thank you so much! I do think my Hawke is rather anemic. In these prompts especially. They were more for fun than anything. I do hope you don’t judge her specifically on them because she is much better in my actual fics.
Links if you are interested:
These are all Hawke/Fenris fics. Not all of them fluffy. A lot of them somewhat angsty. The ones I am most proud of and put on my AO3.
In Victory, Wine — some smutty goodness and general feel goodery, however, I do like Hawke’s personality in this one. Also, Fenris as always.
Caught in the Rain — A gift fic I did for spiderkiss with her Marric Hawke. The only M/M I have ever written, and I still mourn that I haven’t had a chance to go back to it. I was quite proud of this one as well. A Hawke that isn’t even mine, but I tried to capture his personality and voice.
Mother… prompt for BSN — This one is one I am very proud of for Fenris’s voice. I do also like the outside look into Hawke’s personality.
The Wounded Coast, Ironic isn’t it? — The first fanfiction I really did for Hawke/Fenris. I still think Hawke is a bit anemic in this one, but I liked exploring her personality as well as take my first dabble into Fenris’s voice.
The Ritual — I have to say this one is my baby. I have written and rewritten and tweaked and retweaked it a million times. I go back and read it periodically just to see if I am still “proud” of it, and it doesn’t disappoint me. It is my constant work in progress, but it is the one I am most proud of. It came out better than I had hoped it would.
I hope that gives you something that satisfies a bit better than my silly prompts :). I am so grateful and glad for your compliment, however. You have made my day. Thank you again! So much.
